Shark APEX DuoClean with Self-Cleaning Brushroll Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum - Espresso

With two large, long-haired dogs, I was in desperate need of a solid vacuum. Sadly, the Apex ain't it. As you can see, the "no clog" brush roll is no match for my pups' sturdy coats. Additionally, the vacuum is difficult to maneuver and scratches engineered wood floors. Next to the sleek prowess of the Rotator, the Apex is clunky and inefficient. I'll stick with the Rotator from here on out as long as Shark keeps up the high quality I've come to expect from that model.

Has great suction, cleans edges and corners well. The pull-out canister was not an option when selecting a unit and it is easy to pull out and reset on the machine. It takes a bit more effort to use on carpets compared to my previous canister style but cleans better. I like not having to purchase replacement bags.

I HATE HATE HATE cleaning. However, since I got this vacuum, I find myself using it almost every day. It picks up all the peppercorns I spilled on our concrete floors with no effort. It gets the pet hair out of our Persian rugs. The attachment for under the refrigerator is fantastic - couldn’t believe how much was underneath there. I also really appreciate the lift away feature when getting underneath things & on stairs. This was my best purchase of 2019 and worth every cent.

This vacuum works great, love the power, and the adjustments to raise or lower it, but only a couple of problems. One that will probably affect most people, and one that's just kinda me and my wife because we're weird. 1. The hose is too short to use the caddy effectively, or do any high cleaning with out picking the cleaner up. 2. The light shines in my wife's eyes a lot when I'm using it on her breasts. So I wish there was an option to turn it off. Other than that, we love it.

The only disappointment I have is with the hose when you add an attachment for hard to reach places the vacuum tips over. The diction pulls the hose inward making it hard to use the hose. The hose does not extend it’s a struggle to use the hose. I got this vacuum because I have dogs and thought all the attachments would work great and I would be able get under appliances. Sadly this is not the case as mentioned above the hose sucks inwards l. Judy H
