Great !!
exactly as advertised
I recently purchased several items (#10 cans) of Augason Farms products. This seems like a great idea for preppers and daily use.The Margarine can I will open and portion individual ziplock sealer system food storage bags. On the side of can it says "25 year shelf life and 1 year after opened". Re-sealing in air tight bags using (Zip Lock Vacuum Sealer System Machine) should keep the portions sealed edible well past a year and plus being able to use for cooking and not exposing the whole amount to air moisture . Also, on can directions it says "Do Not Add Water" .Not sure why..But, I am going to try 2 parts powder to 1 part water ,and refrigerate cold to see if I get margarine "Spreadable"consistancy for possibly toast , muffins, etc. And seems like it can save money than buying regular margarine every month or two and only needing a small amount for cooking .Have a sealed small amount portion for use and/or emergency food kit. Perfect.
Interesting to use. Does not melt but it will burn. Has a very mild flavor that does not stand out. I am guessing it would make anything you bake that needs margarine much easier to put together but is not much use for the top of the stove and has limited uses in the oven (no melting). I made some baked chicken with bread crumbs and margarine. The margarine powder just stuck to the outside of the chicken and browned - like the bread crumbs.
