This item was quite reasonable when I first purchased it and even though there has recently been a recent 20% increase at Walmart it is still cheaper than buying it on Augason's site at the original price. The fruit is freeze dried so even though it lasts for many years - the nutrition is about the same - as is the taste as the fruit (when fresh) when utilized in recipes. Make sure though that if you are sent a container that is dented in (like I originally received in an undamaged box) that you return it and not risk the seal breaking - reducing the amount of life-span it has. It's a great way to have fruit available and not worry about the fruit spoiling before it's been eaten.
The only critique ;my buckets had been damaged in shipment but it was sealed up..it is a minor issue otherwise I am so happy to have augason farms and Walmart...fantastic deal...no one can beat the prices or free shipping with $35 purchase..and my order was big ..if I had to pay for shipping it would be too much. I can't comment on taste because its for emergency/survival but customer comments are very positive across the board from people who have tried it...they have a good reputation for quality!

This is a great product for the money, good value. Good product for food storage and consumption.
I ordered a single bucket to review. The fruit is packaged in Mylar bags with a ziplock seal. There are two bags of each fruit and a single bag of the fruit drink. I estimate the drink mix to be 14 - 16 oz (heavier than a 12oz box of Nesquick but lighter than a 19 oz package of pre-sweetened Kool-Aid). The fruit is packaged with oxygen absorbers. Some bags were crinkled up tight and others were not. All of the fruit was crunchy and flavorful so I do not believe any of the Mylar bags were compromised, I think some of the O2 absorbers were ineffective. All of the bags in this bucket were dated as having been packaged between 6NOV12 and 17NOV12. Items were opened and eaten 21FEB13. I like that there were 2 bags of each fruit vs a single bag or even a #10 can. Without counting the value of the apple drink mix (have not tried it), and taking in to account my estimation of the weight of the drink mix, it puts the per oz cost of the fruit between $1.81 - $1.87 per oz.

Not to impressed with this product. Found two packs open when I opened the lid. However, Walmart did a great job making up for this. They not only replaced the whole order they sent me a little extra on the side with next day shipping.
