Probably one of my favorite items from this company. I have used them in soups, stews, and yes, even as hash browns. Will purchase again, and recommend to any that would like to try them.
Wal-Mart did a great job shipping the emergency food supplies that i have ordered. i have opened and used one can of these potatoe shreds. rehydrating takes 20 to 30 minutes in.my experience. then use same as fresh.
I was surprised when using it for the first time...just like fresh potatoes. I simmered it with some TVP (Honeyville) in broth, added some vegetables and it was great.
I bought this primarily to use in my RV for a quick potato dish, but have ended up using it at home as well. It is quick and easy and has good flavor. I soaked it in boiling water and did not boil it as the directions say; then browned it in olive oil.
I purchased the potato shreds along with a can of the cream of potato soup, a small handful of shreds in a cup of soup. Wonderful and very tasty and a great price!
No more peeling potatoes and no more potatoes going bad. These potato shreads taste just like fresh potatoes. I made potato soup, and hash browns, and could not tell from fresh potatoes...I plan to make scalloped potatoes today. This product also saves LOTS of time!!
I was amazed when I opened the box and found double wrapping of the %2310 cans to prevent damage. I have NEVER seen such care of these caned products as this company had done. GREAT JOB
I have bought these potato shreds sooo many times. They are GREAT, Just add water wait, once they are rehydrated you discard any extra water. Put these in a pan with oil or butter, bell peppers maybe even eggs. These make great home fries. Why wait for an emergency? Use them on hot dogs or as a side with stake. LOVE these Plain out of the can. They are like thick potato chips. Ha ha YUMMM ♥
My daughter loves hashbrowns for breakfast and the dehydrated potatoes for 1 meal are $1.50 a container. I bought this to see if they tasted the same and to validate how many meals I can obtain from the can. I did not follow the directions on the can, I put a handful in a bowl with hot tap water, let them soak for 10 minutes, then drained off excess water before throwing them into a hot skillet of oil. They cook up crispy and flavorful. I added the same brand dehydrated onion in the soaking phase to give added flavor. The can is a large coffee can so you need an electric can opener to be efficient and you must store the large can once opened. It looks like I can get about 6-10 meals from the can so I will be buying this product again.
the can was only half full you get more for potatoes by buying the hungry jack brand
