I normally use filtered cold water from fridge dispenser, but during cold weather the water from fridge feels too cold. So I normally heat up filtered water in microwave or coffee maker. Ideally I like water at the room temperature. The Avalon Bottom Loading Water Cooler Water Dispenser is an elegant product that provides hot water, cold water and water at room temperature. After I received the product, quickly read and followed the setup instructions. I used 5 gallon water bottle. In the past I have loaded water bottle into top loading water dispenser, and I admit I hated those. Bottom loading is so much easier; you just put the probe into the water bottle and slide it in. After the power cord was plugged, it started pumping water from the bottle into dispenser's tank. I waited for red flashing light to turn off before dispensing any water. It has separate switches on the back for hot and cold water, meaning you can choose to use the dispenser for hot only, cold only or both. Though the manual says 15-20 minutes for hot water, it was ready sooner than that and it was extremely hot. I checked cold water after an hour and it was very cold. When I dispensed using Room temperature button, the water was indeed at room temperature. The dispenser is high quality, looks extremely beautiful and it goes very well with rest of our stainless steel appliances. When the compressor is on, even if it is on a flat surface you can hear the noise, I found it slightly louder than my fridge's. I highly recommend this Energy Star approved product.
best decision to buy. wish it had controls for the cool water button, my wife prefers ambient temp water, but the"cool" button is a cooler than ambient. the cold button is super cold which I appreciate. if you like ambient temp, consider another machine.
I bought this for my parents because theirs quit working. I did a lot of research before choosing this one. So far it's worked as expected. My dad said it was simple to set up and does what's expected. This was one of the more affordable options which I appreciated. The shipping was delayed by several days which was disappointing but to be expected from delivery companies now a days. If you're hesitant, I'd say go for it!
I was really looking forward to receiving this Avalon Bottom Loading Water Cooler Machine from the Wal-Mart Spark Reviewer team. This machine is an awesome change for this household. We no longer are contributing to the empty water bottles currently in our landfills. This water machine is sleek and modern looking. It has hot water, cold water, and room temperature water. There is a nice drip pan under the nozzles, which is easily removed and emptied. This machine even has a night light if you find you need it. I 'tested the hot water, with a tea bag in a cup. It was hot and was great for my cup of tea. We used a 5 gallon bottle of water that we purchased at Wal-Mart. I found it easy to set up, and the booklet that came with the machine was easy to follow.
The 3 temps are great. Sometimes cold is too cold in the AM when taking medicine. Profile is a little smaller and more sleek than my old one with same suze bottle. Straw on pump designed to get all the water and adjusts for 3 or 5 gal bottles.
This came quick and was easy to put together. It works well and it's great to fit 5 gallon water bottles. No more lifting. Engine is quiet. Lighted display works well. Please note on hot water you need to hold dispense together as safety lock
I have had water coolers over the past 30 years, but they all shared one particular trait: lifting a 5 gallon water bottle about three feet up and then over into the cooler itself. The water bottles weigh about fifty pounds, and needless to say, it's a lot harder to pick up those bottles than it was when I was barely pushing 30. So here comes this wonderful machine, and I am so happy to have it! The bottles load from the bottom of the cooler, and I can still maneuver them into place without breaking my back or spilling water everywhere trying to wrestle that much weight practically over my head. I'm only five feet tall (and shrinking, I might add). Once the bottle is in place, it hooks up to a pump that does all the lifting for you. It's so much more convenient, and actually does cool and/or heat the water. It can get pretty hot, but there's a guard on the hot water button so that children will have a hard time getting hot water out instead of cold. I expect to get many years of service out of this. It also accepts the smaller 2 or 2 and a half gallon bottles, so as I get even older, I think I will still be able to put the bottles in place fairly easily. I also really like the black and stainless finish; it looks very stylish and adds a little extra update to your kitchen. Very nice appliance!
Love the bottom loader. Top loaders are such a pain to reload. The cold and hot can be turned on individually. I keep the cold one on, but if I want to make tea, I just flip the switch in the back, wait about 5 mins and it heats up perfectly! I like that option because no need to waste electricity heating water 24/7. Would definitely recommend!
the item arrived damaged. it has a hole on top cover of the water cooler.
It just arrived today and unfortunately with damage (it's plastic so easier to get damage) I didn't try it out, so I can't comment on that but I was just disappointed because this is my 2nd water dispenser I buy from walmart that comes damage. Both from 2 different brands (1 bought in store, 1 online purchase). I did reach out to Avalon but at the end I decided to return it %26 will buy another one because I can't get my money back since I used a walmart gift card.
