Great product, that we’ve been using for over 10 years!the filters last and provide quality water for months.
Price was cheaper than in the store with free fast delivery. I don't have to drive to the store just to buy one thing and saves my time and my gas. Walmart handle the whole process very professionally I was very satisfied.
I ordered on Walmart bc reviews on Amazon said they got better filters in Walmart. I used it and brownish water came out. I can see the coal in the bottom. My meter is broke so I am not sure if I can drink this or not. Seriously? The picture shows less coals. It’s worse in the bottom of the bottle.
This is specific to filters being Distributed by Windhaven Media Product received was clearly "recycled" filters that were not properly reserviced. There was loose dirt on the surface of the filter and the Zerowater meter was reading over 900 for all four of the package! Our water quality is typically 350, glad I check these first as this is a serious health hazard.
I just got this and I used the tester after I replaced it and it is already above the recommended unit. It says replace when it is at 0.06 but what do you do when you just replaced it and the new one is reading 0.09. Refer to image.
These filters are often fake, and it depends on where they ship from. Even, the product image is of the counterfeit filters. The midsection on the top is not raised, and the outlet hole is larger in diameter than the genuine filters. With fake filters, the water actually gets worse, and who knows what it contains. It's better to buy them directly from Zero, or pick them up in person so that you can be sure of what you are getting. The real one is on the left.
The package contained 4 filters and everyone of them is defective. The water drains out of the filter quickly and is brown. The readings ranged from 286 to 816! For two days I used the water that tested at 286 for my coffee. Luckily, I noticed the brackish color before I drank any more. The attached photo shows the color (no, that is not tea) and the test number. Unfortunately, I did not use these until today so it is no longer possible to return them. But I want the Seller, WalMart, and the World to be aware. Until I can purchase new filters from someone else, I will drink the tap water which tests only at 187 and tastes just fine.
Be very careful as this purchase was a fake filter - the supplier was not ZeroWater. Previously WalMart purchases had been safe, but not anymore.
I don't know if I want to simply never use this seller again or just stop shopping for them online all together. The first thing I noticed when I opened the plastic bag was unusual compared to my years of previous experience. In the picture I attached you'll notice the thread area has coal or whatever is supposed to be inside all over it. I cleaned it off with a wet paper towel (said why bother when the second one was the same) and installed it. The water came out brown. I have never experienced this before. Even worse the PPM meter read higher than the water from the tap. I didn't have the frame of mind to take pictures of the tank the first time, but I have included pictures of the meter readings from both. From what I've read I'm fortunate because the water was at least brown to indicate there was a problem. My PPM meter read 591 then went as low as 143 after 3 uses but would not go lower. The second filter read 355 and the tank was filled with brown water as before. I'm not even going to waste my time checking the others. I have pictures of all the readings, but the review will only allow for two.
Appears to be a knockoff. Does not filter out contaminants like original filter. I'm on my 5th run-through of water and the reading is still 0.69. My Britta does better than that.
