Now here is something that I have wanted for years. I have a very anxiety ridden life and never seem to be able to relax at night or even during the day if there is a little quiet time for myself. This Sound Spa is quite helpful. I was a bit concerned at first to see that it “had” to be charged through my computer. I charge it with the same cord that I charge my smart phone with, which is already right there on my night table. Convenient. This little thing has 12 different sounds that can be used. I am sure everyone will have their favorites. I have given them all a try. I prefer the gentle rain, thunderstorm, ocean and a musical sound called energize, which I find very relaxing. I dared part with it for a few hours and let my daughter try. She had her favorites also - Rainforest, Everglades, and dockside. This also incorporates a timer for 15 minutes, 30 minute and a full hour. Or not using the timer at all. It is very helpful and enjoyable to me and I wish I had bought one previously. I was able to try this through the Spark Review program and I would recommend it highly.
The Homedics SoundSpa Ultra Portable Rechargeable Sound Machine is a great way to relax and remove the stress of the day!! This is a powerful little machine that is charged by a lithium ion battery and comes with a USB charging cord. If you want to plug it into your wall you will need to purchase a separate power cord because it is not included. Plug in the USB charging cord to your computer and there is a little red light that will come on. When the unit is fully charged, the light will turn green. It has a very nice, refreshing, appearance and the sound is phenomenal! There is a safety lock located on the back of the unit which will keep your unit from turning on if you are traveling. You can just turn the center ring to select the sound that you choose to help you relax. There are 12 different sounds to choose from including: Zen, Brook, Campfire, Dockside, Gentle Rain, Everglades, Fan, Ocean, Energize, Rainforest, Thunderstorm, and White Noise. I really like the Zen, Brook, Ocean and Energize sounds, however they are all great! You can adjust the volume very easily by just pushing the volume selector up or down. It also has a timer which you can set for 15, 30, or 60 minutes. When your unit is turned on it will automatically default to the last sound used. To clean, just wipe off with a damp cloth. It's very reasonably priced and these Nature Sounds are my solution to helping me to relax and get a better night sleep! Highly recommend...wish I would have found this SoundSpa sooner!!
Ok so I am not quite sure how I felt about this HoMedics Sleep Solutions Sound Soother. There are both plusses and minuses. I will start with the minuses. First, it is super tiny (about the size of a soda can). I’m not sure why I assumed it would be larger. Second, it comes with a very short USB charging cable so it has to be almost right next to the USB port in order to charge. Third, some of the sounds are little strange and muffled. Like “fan”, the sound is kind of muffled like how a fan would sound if something was up against it and “ocean” which sounds so muffled you can’t really tell what it is and “dockside” which sounds exactly like “ocean”. On the plus side, the small size does make traveling with is very easy. I personally liked “zen” and “thunderstorm” and “everglades” (which also sounds like “rainforest”. I also like the sleep timer function so I can set it and fall asleep to it. It does have volume control which is great and the brochure states 4 hours of charge time will give you 12 hours of playtime. I do wish it came with the ability to connect headphones in it. I always wanted to bring one of these to the office but I know someone will be asking where the crickets are coming from! The great thing about these HoMedics products is they keep changing for the better so I’m excited to keep trying their products! Time to relax!
I am so glad I bought this model sound machine; it is so much nicer looking and the sounds are clearer. You can use the ac plug from your iPhone to charge this unit . It cost more than cheaper plug in machines but this unit takes little space on your nightstand and it performs really well so worth it! Glad I chose this model easily fits in a purse or small bag for traveling
I am very happy with this little sound machine, it is very easy to use, has a great selection of sounds to choose from and the sound quality is great, it really does fill the room with sound. The first thing I would like to point out is that the machine is rechargeable only via the included USB cable, there is no option for batteries or to plug it in to a wall unit so keep that in mind if purchasing for yourself or for a gift. I have had it for a week and only had to charge it once, and it took about 2 hrs to charge fully. There are many reasons as to why someone would purchase a sound machine, simply to tune out unwanted noise or night time to help you fall asleep, but I have found another good one, I have an 11 yr old son with Autism who really likes this as well, often I will find him taking this out of my room and into his, he will simply turn it on while he is playing and it is very calming for him. So for those who have someone in there life with special needs, this could be something worth trying. As for the machine itself it is not very big, a little over five inches wide and about one and a half inches high, the body is a glossy white with silver trim and it is pretty light weight. Overall this is a great product, I would highly recommend.
I owned a sound machine years ago and it can't even compare to this one. The old one was light, felt cheap and had a tinny sound. This one has some weight to it without being heavy. It feels solidly built and it has a really clear sound that can be adjusted to the comfort level of the user to fall asleep to. It has a travel lock on the underside so that it can't be accidentally turned on in a suitcase, which would otherwise have your suitcase making strange sounds or at least kill the built in rechargeable battery. It has a timer with settings for 15, 30 or 60 minutes, so that it will go off after you fall asleep and not drain the battery. The numbers for the timer as well as the 12 sound settings light up blue, so it's easy to adjust in the dark. The 12 sounds are: Fan, Ocean, Energize, Rainforest, Thunderstorm, White Noise, Everglades, Gentle Rain, Dockside, Campfire, Brook and Zen. The Thunderstorm puts me right to sleep. The crickets(?) in Rainforest works as well. If I was tired and had to stay awake, I would set it to Zen or Energize. I might not be able to see straight, but they would definitely keep me awake. As different as people are, they might put someone else to sleep. The only down side that I've found is that you have to have a USB port to charge the battery. Not sure how long the battery charge lasts, but I set the timer each time at 15 or 30 minutes and haven't had to charge it yet.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with this compact sound machine. It has a travel lock on the underside, so it's perfect for taking with you on a trip. My daughter doesn't sleep well without some background noise and this has been perfect for her. She's listening to Rainforest, which sounds like crickets and stuff you'd hear at night in the woods. The other sounds are Fan, Ocean, Energize - this one is kinda weird long chords I think it's more relaxing than energizing, Thunderstorm, White Noise, Zen - relaxing background music you'd hear at a spa, Brook - basically running water, Campfire - sounds like a crackling fire, Dockside - waves with faint birds, Gentle Rain, and Everglades - chirping crickets and critters you'd hear in the woods. Love the timer, can time for 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Great speaker and it can get quite loud if you want it to. Battery has lasted about a week without needing a charge. Great product!!
The homedics sleep solutions sound soother does just what the name says. It soothe you right to sleep I absolutely recommend this sleep machine. I always have trouble falling to sleep.with the sound machine I slowly drift off to sleep. It is amazing. My favorite sound is thunderstorme then campfire,zen,gentle rain,everglades,rainforest,and ochen. The ones I do not like are brook,dockside,white noise.I do not like brook because it sounds like a tolit running.and Whitehouse sounds like radio static and to me is very anoint. The first time you charge it it tkez four hours. After that it only takes fourth five minute to charge. This will last two days. This machine comes with a USB charging cable. If you have a android charging cord you can charge the sound machine on this.something I also love is that you can adjust the volume. Oh I almost forgot another handything it is a little switch on the bottom of the machine.it is a lock and unlock switch. This is in case you travel. It keeps your batteries from running out. So all in all I love this machine.

Fan, Ocean, Energize, Rain forest, Thunderstorm, Zen, Brook, Campfire, Dockside, Gentle Rain, and Everglades. You can choose any sound you want for meditating, Studying, Falling asleep, Or just filling a room with sound to block out any distractions. The devices measurements are 6”L, 3-3/4 W, I-3/4” H. Its white with chrome accents on the bottom of the base, The top, And the the dial . The device comes with an instruction manual and a USB cord for charging. That is 3-1/5 feet long. A wall charger can be purchased after market (100V-240AC 50/60 Hz). And require a cord that has a Micro USB end. The unit has a lithium battery that will require a four hour initial charging. After the initial charging The battery will last twelve hours. Recharging the battery will be fast after the first charging. Using the features and operations of the device is every easy. Pressing the power button and holding it down for three seconds will turn the device on. Then there's the timer button. You can set the timer by pressing it down to choose the time you want to turn off in 15, 30, or 60 minutes or just leave it on to listen to it, Till your ready to turn it off manually by pressing the power button down and hold it down three seconds till the device turns off. There's two speaker buttons. One for turning the sound up or the other speaker button to turn the sound down, The speaker is located in the middle of the device. Around the speaker is the dial for choosing the sound you want to select. I find it easiest to select the sound I want by placing my hands on each side and spinning the sound selector dial with my thumbs. When the device is turned on the sound you select will light up with a blue light. There is also a lock and unlock switch located on the bottom for locking the device for traveling against accidentally turning on. On the back of the device is a Micro USB jack for charging the device. Witch also has a charging ling, Orange for charging and green for indicating it's charged. This sound machine is good in the home and for travel. It's easy to charge and use. This sound machine come in handy for me as I live a street corner. This sound machine is good for covering up the noises of rush hour in the morning and evening. The sounds are also good for falling asleep. Or just filling the room with sound. My favorite sound from this device is thunderstorm. It comes with a one year limited factory warranty. The only downside I see with this device is. It would have been nice to have the wall charger come with the it. Your not always close to a computer for charging the device while traveling. On the whole this is a nice little sound machine. I'm glad I had the chance to review it.
I am enjoying this little machine very much. The only downside is the position rotator can be a bit hard to turn, if want to try a different setting. The relaxing sound gives me something to put my wandering mind on and lulls me off nicely. I'm looking forward to traveling with it soon.
