I use these items for short term emergencies, like last minute dinner ideas. Taste and quality of food is great. We received it very quickly, no issues with the shipping. Good price. Buying the pack is cheaper than buying the cans individually. It stores for a long time as well, so that's a plus. Even after you open the can, it has a year before it expires, so you don't have to worry about using it right away.
I bought this for my friend and he said it arrived in good condition, box was a bit roughed up but in good shape. He is going to save them for a "rainy day". I have bought other Auguson Farms products and have not been disappointed with them. The potato soup is really good!
It's food storage, so I have yet to taste it, but I've tasted other products from this company and they were great. The prices here were better than anywhere else. Fast, free shipping. Totally satisfied
These were bought as emergency supplies, so , I cannot testify as to taste. The package was prompt in delivery and arrived in good condition. All of the cans were dated as recent packages and advertised to have a ten year shelf life .
We lose power frequently here in the desert. This, along with our Sun Oven solar cooker really comes in handy for emergencies and for a change of pace too. We have stocked up on several Augason Farms dried foods and all are really good, except for the Chili Mac, it leaves a bitter after taste. The freeze dried fruit can be eaten right out of the can like candy. The veggies are best in stews or with some dried onions and peppers with butter powder. Good stuff for emergencies or just a change of pace. It also keeps for years. Grocery shopping is 90 miles away for us so this is a great way to keep our pantry stocked and we don't have to worry about refrigeration failures.
I bought this and other auguson farms foods, they taste great, packed well, come with recipes and are easy to prepare. I'm not a prepper by any means, I just want to have what I need to take some of the worry away in case of natural disaster or personal emergency, job loss etc. the food stores for years, so why not !?
This group of items was a great combination. I eat this food regularly and I love being able to buy this ready made box instead of having to buy them individual. Price is good for what you get , but I usually buy in bulk when they go on sale - luckily that is fairly often.
I am pleased with the food though only an emergency would require I use it so I can not rate the flavor. Look for an update AFTER the zombie apocalypse begins.
Box did not contain what it was supposed to contain. The meat was missing. It's going back. In place of the meat product mine instead contained 2 cans of scone mix. The scone mix is cheap. The meat is not. The meat substitute product was one of the main reasons I bought this. I'm taking it to Walmart to get a refund and I won't be buying any more of these packs. I won't speculate if this was intentional at AF but it seems a pretty suspect substitution and I am suspicious that it was not an accident. I've bougt a LOT of AF but if this is what they are down to I'll be switching brands. I don't like being ripped off. The web page and the box are very specific about what the box is supposed to contain.
Package was deliver later then we were told, but since we were not charged for the shipping that was not our main concern.Three out of 6-cans were damaged. Large Dents in the cans. Not a very good impression. Neither of the boxes they transported the variety pack in, were damaged. So that has lead us to believe, that the damaged was done prior to packaging and mailing. Appears that there is a lack of quality control some where in this chain. There ws no bubble tape or peanuts in the box to help prevent damaging cans in the future. No offense, but I would not purchase dented cans in the store, an should not expect cans to be delivered to my home damaged. I had to return the package to the local Wal-Mart store. Do to health issues that was a unconvience for us. They were unable to make an exchange of the Augason dinner pack. But they did refund the full amount on to a Wal-Mart card. No hassles. That was good news. Still, we were disappointed that we could not make an even exchange. We were planning a camping trip and we will not know if the variety pack was of good quality or not. we would like to think it would have been. I'm a little concern about reordering without some better assurances that we will not receive the same results. However,I'm not going to give you a good rating do to the damaged cans. I'd like to think, that the meals would have been enjoyable to eat? The folks at the store were very nice and polite. I contacted Augason Farms, they stated that cans do get damaged and while they were sorry, I needed to contact Wal-Mart. Having worked in shipping & receiving, I'm aware that packages get dropped and their contents can get damaged. As stated earlier, since there was no damage to either of the boxes, it would appear these cans were damaged prior to being packed for mailing. We're still customers of Wal-Mart,but I think I'll buy Mountain House packages next time for our camping. Thank you
