Buying on line was a better price than buying in store.
Skeptical about this at first but these are great! Love that they aren't over sweet, so they are great alone for snacking, for adding to granola, or even baking.
Good price. Quick delivery.
Chunks are a little on small side. Very good flavor. Excellent for baked goods!
I haven't tried this one yet, but am looking forward to it. Regular dried pineapple has too much sweetener added. If I find this unsweetened freeze-dried pineapple not sweet enough, it will be easy to add just a little fruit juice to it, to fix that. I can't fix the over sweetened regular dried pineapple. This is the better choice. I already tried the freeze-dried raspberries last night, as I wanted fruit, but all the non freeze-dried fruits I have on hand are sweet, and I really wasn't in the mood for sweet fruit at the time. I ate the raspberries as is, without rehydrating them. I might add a little fruit juice next time, but that will still be less sweet, and healthier than adding sugar, honey, or molasses.
Opened up the can and found the can to be filled nicely. The chunk are smaller than I expected but no to bad. They make a good snack. I will buy them again.
These are pea-sized pieces of pineapple, hardly worthy of the designation "chunks." the flavour is ok, but it seems the pineapple could have been riper before processing.
My first can I purchased was perfect --full of chucks just the perfect texture. It's the only way I can get my 2 year old to eat fruit, so I bought them again, for $5 more this time. This time, they were pretty much crumbs. Just tiny bits that are no where close to the chunk, bite size as the previous one. My 2 year old won't even eat these now. They still taste good, but it's like they gave me the bottom of the bag, and for what I spent on them, that isn't okay.
I have brought a lot of Augason products..but this one I have problem with the name itself! Not chunks at all.. I brought to put in oatmeal, the best in does is add a little sweetness..no chunks found just small particles that disolves..should have brought can pineapple chunks!
I tried several ways to make this work...but failure was all I got. Way too many pieces were too tough to eat. Even put it into a food processor after hydration to create an applesauce cosintancy and still had fibrous pieces I could not chew. Many pieces had the brown and green rind on them. I gave up. I do not recommend this product.
