Okay, it is the right type of anchor/running light for a boat, but you need to mount it and connect the wiring. Because the picture does not show the mounting portion of the light, I forgot there are different kinds of mounts. It was also way to short for my boat. I liked the idea it was an LED(and fold down) as LED is very bright and won't run your battery down, especially if you are fishing all night. Too bad it was not exactly what I wanted.
After owning this light for 1 month, I took my boat to a lake, and accidently turned to tighten a stern tie down strap, bumped the light, and the plastic base broke at the screw holes. I searched Atwood for a replacement base, and none are made, you have to buy a whole new light. But I used an Atwood Fish On Rod Holder base, filed down the tab in the center hole, and then inserted the lights tube, then sealed it with black RTV sealant, and then drilled a hole in the side of the bracket near the top, and installed a self tapping screw. Now you can literally pull the boat over, without any breakage. Besides, 4 screws holding the base, is better than two. Very poor design on this lights base.
