great quality for the price
I was gifted this product so that I could leave an honest review. I have owned so many kitchen utensils over the years that served their purpose but didn't really impress me. I really liked that this set had sturdier handles than most kitchen utensils. The stainless steel on the handles improved the grip and the look of the utensils. I didn't appreciate the design of the whisk until I used it. It worked really well in a deep bowl. I included a picture of the whisk to show the design. I've always liked Farberware, but I was pleasantly surprised by this set.
I love Angel Soft. Its a good quality toilet paper for a very affordable price. Angel Soft gets you clean and its could for your plumbing too
For the price of this product you get MANY items including a nice potato peeler and a great set of measuring cups. Additionally, you get a can opener! 14 pieces in all. Great for a starter couple or bachelor pad. Nice handles on all the items. Highly recommend! This item was a gift for review.
I'm going to start with the things I don't like just so I can end with the positive. Heh. The can opener is meh. The Swing-a-way brand that you can usually pick up at your local grocery store works better than this one. And the spoons are a bit too flexible. I do wonder how long they will hold up under heavy use. I would suggest that if you do a lot of heavier stirring (like stews and slow cooker recipes), grab an inexpensive set of wooden spoons to complement this set. That said, for the price of this set, I'd still recommend it just because overall, it is really good. The spoons are a nice size for serving. The pancake turner is big. Great for moms who make a ton of grilled cheese sandwiches. AND to get your measuring spoons and cups with it so everything matches! I love that. I bought it because it was inexpensive and I was starting fresh on a budget, but I can already tell I'll have this set for quite some time and I spent my money wisely.
This 14 piece set is ideal for someone that is starting from scratch and needs items for their kitchen. The black and silver finish on each item go with any color scheme of any kitchen. The handles are big allowing for a good grip while cooking. The measuring cups and spoons nest into one another allowing for space saving in your kitchen. The different colors on each cup/spoon help the baker differentiate between the sizes with a quick glance. All items have made successful trips through the dishwasher. My only reason for not giving five stars is I wish the spatula turners and spoons were a bit more rigid. The peeler, measuring cups/spoons, and can opener all performed well. I was gifted this product so I could give and honest review.
It's a nice set, but the cooking spoon is a little too flimsy. I'm returning the set back
The first time I used my spatula to flip an egg, it melted to my pan and left a thick plastic streak across my pan, thus ruining my brand new stainless steel skillet. That is a big enough reason to avoid this set! The measurement labels on the spoons and cups also smeared/came off within a month of light use.
I bought this set a month ago, and it's been nothing but a problem ever since. To start with, the plastic necks on all the spoons and the spatula are extremely flimsy. Browning meat and stirring a large pot of chowder are a chore. The big plastic handle on the can opener cracked and broke off THE VERY FIRST TIME I TRIED TO OPEN A CAN. Is that supposed to be a joke? I'm including a picture of the end of the spatula. In the time I've owned this product, I've used the spatula about a dozen times. Browning beef and cooking eggs are the only things it's been used for. The front edge of the spatula is already melting. See the picture to see what I mean. I'm very careful to not leave the spatula sitting in a hot pan, because I know that WILL melt the end off. Pass this wretched set by, save your money for something else a little more durable. Don't end up like me, with $20 down the drain on this garbage that I now need to replace.
I bought it because there is one thing I needed and it was in the set, A CAN OPENER. Well the can opener is crap. I had such a hard time opening a simple can. So I will have to find a better quality item. So disappointed as the name brand was always good quality.
