I've been buying this bread for so many years and haven't ever had any complaints and after reading the reviews, they're more focused on the delivery or shipping and not the actual taste of the product. The bread is soft and tastes fresh and we use it for everything all the time. It's very affordable and tastes just as good as the high dollar name brands
This bread is always soft. I dont purchase any other bread. But if you get it delivered make sure they dont leave it on the ground where outdoor cats can get it!
A moist bread, spongie texture, fresh and hearty.... Makes a good sandwhich with a balance of crumbage in consumption. I wish they stop using plastic clip which tears bag on open and closing.
I paid for two loads of bread did not get any Out of a dozen eggs only 6 were good all other's broken on bottom Gallon of milk about 2 inches was missing and seal was still on it but afraid to drink it bad experience
Price has changed a lot because of COVID19. Used to be $0.67 a loaf about a year or so ago. Now $1.00 a loaf. That would be somewhat understandable if the quality had stayed the same. Quality has really gone downhill however. We've been buying this bread for at least 5 years now. Past 6 months the quality has been going down. We started noticing a lot of mold growing after only having the bread a couple of days. We thought maybe our AC needed to be set colder. Nope! Our electricity bill shot up, but the bread still molded just as quickly. The mold would be hidden by the wrapper on the sides, or even in the middle of the loaf. Then over the last month or so the loaves have been really airy. There are literally pockets of air throughout the entire loaf of bread (on multiple loaves). We thought we got a bad batch, and bought more. Nope, still the same on other loaves as well. With that much air there is no way the loaf is 20oz. It used to say 24oz a year or so ago. We will no longer be buying this brand.
Won't let write a review for the OTHER bread I got that was past expiration. Refer to "fresh baked bread" for picture. Order 10/23. Bread was 10/21. Why walmart?! This bread was hard and not soft at all.
Ordered Walmart plus received smashed bread todays order it's been happening way to much missing items dented cans on my last few I can't open need to be tossed out ridiculous. Delivery people seem to just not care tossing bags here there bad bad bad!
I dislike that the great value sliced bread is burned .Walmart associate still selected ,very poor judgement to pick for my order .I requested a refund after my son showed me the quality of the bread.Great value chocolate chip cookies in the blue pkg. are very good cookies but also lately are way over baked too.
The cons now outweigh the pros. Pros: Costs $1, it's bread Cons: Expires faster than other bread, has smaller slices than other bread. But the one that's really made me unhappy lately... What's up with the slice sizes?! My last 3 or 4 loaves have had drastically different sized slices! Like once weird but ok but this many now what's happening? Is this just my store/town or everywhere? It's seriously alternated too, 1 big 1 small 1 big 1 small so if you want a matching sandwich you gotta dig and work for it. I don't mean a little different either the smaller ones are literally like half the size of the bigger slices. This is driving me absolutely crazy! Yeah it's cheap but why haven't they caught this yet aren't they doing quality control? Seems like it should be an easy fix since it's patterned like that but yet it continues so I'll probably be going back to the more expensive stuff!
Found bite marks on the bread, so this is either a small rodent or an insect based marking on the bread and the holes left on the wrapper, pointing to insecure storage of inventory. Throwing away the bread in it's entirety, but at least i know to think twice before shopping at this Walmart facility. As this is an Online order, it baffles me this wasn't looked at before placing for shipment, even after having a 1 day advance notice.
