Take the other reviews here with a grain of salt. I purchased to heat my large living room with drafty windows. As a convection-type heater, it doesn't have a fan, but that is a great thing! It literally makes no noise, but still heats my very large living room toasty warm. If you want personal heater, by a different type of heater, but this is pefect for a living room or bedroom where you don't want fan noise.
this is perfect if you have kids and your looking at heating a regular room. at first i wasnt going to buy it cause of the first review. but i mean the room was in a basement. the coldest place in a house so i decided to try it any way and ya know what it works just fine for my living room and bedroom. but no i would not reccomen heating your basment with this unit
I have a very large bedroom, i bought this heater for. It does warm the room nice. But it is in no way cool to the touch, the top of it gets very hot. I don't regret buying it but if you have small children i would look for something else. They could get a very bad burn.
I am overall happy with this heater. I wish it had a automatic temp controller. It warms the room of size 16 by 20 very quickly.
I got this product as a birthday gift. Overall, I like the product it heats up a room quick. Yes it does not heat large heat well. I have research all types of electric heater and overall none heats room comfortable but they all heat room just as well as propane, gas, or even wood heaters do. You just have to get enough to heat the home. This heater does the job fine. If you turn on your ceiling fan and place the heater in middle of the room it heats great. I only had this heater about a week.
This heater puts out a lot of good heat. We used it in combination with a small radiator to heat our 20x12 livingroom/kitchen with no other heat. We were warm and toasty all winter. There is no blower, so sometimes we would put a fan in front of it to circulate the air faster, but even without that, the large room would be warm within an hour. Very impressive for an affordable little heater! The problem? This heater breaks and stays broken. You can see a little spark inside like it's trying to stay on, but it will no longer heat. I have had two die this way, and unfortunately, I won't risk buying another one.
I purchased this heater for a room in the basement it did not heat the entire room. The much less expensive heater that i was using before I purchased this one works much better than this one did I dont fell that it is worth the money I returned it to the store
The ENTIRE top of the heater gets VERY HOT, even though the box says "cool touch". With 2 small kids, it was important to us. Also, without a fan in the room, you had to be next to the heater to get any warmth. For $60, we were very disappointed that the product didn't match the promises on the box. We returned it and got a $24 dollar medium room model from Honeywell that we like. It blows 360 degrees and warms up a much larger space.
It's an overpriced piece of junk that will only slightly warm you if you're sitting less than a foot away from it and wearing a jacket.
I bought this heater and it heated well for about three days and then would not work. If this Honeywell Whole Room Heater - Model HZ-725 shuts down on you, you have to package it up, pay postage to mail it back to Honeywell and pay a handling fee to Honeywell to have it repaired/replaced. If this heater thinks it has overheated, it shuts down for good. There is nothing you can do at home. You have to send it to Honeywell to reset it!!!!!! (They say when this happens to have an electrician come out to check your electrical outlet!!!!!) (My house is old with fuse/wall outlet 2-prong plug system but I also have recently added wall outlet 3-prong plug with electrical flip switch box system.) After reading the instructions, I plugged heater into one of my new 3-prong wall outlets that has been used before with other space heaters with no problem at all! The heater worked for about three days and then shut down. So here lies the problem? Let's say, I return this heater to Honeywell, they reset heater, return it to me and it stops again - the whole process starts all over again - I get to pay again to return to Honeywell to reset. Get the problem now? There is a flaw in the design of this heater!!!!!!!!! Also, do I call an electrician each time the heater shuts down to check out my perfectly good outlet (and I bet they gladly do that for free)? WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY THIS HEATER!!!! I WAS WARNED BY OTHER REVIEWERS AND THOUGHT IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN TO ME!!!!!
