We had the first generation monitor for our first child a couple of years ago and loved it. I'm glad we were able to purchase this monitor for our second child. We used the first monitor until our child was almost 1 and had very few "false alarms." So far this monitor is working perfectly, even though our daughter is tiny and her diaper doesn't always fit snugly. And I love being able to sleep with the assurance that the alarm will wake me if anything ever did happen.
me and my husband lost a baby right before we had our daughter. this made us aware of how fragile a baby is and that anything can happen to anyone. so needless to say we were very protective of our daughter before she was even born and our nerves were a wreck thinking about SIDS. we thought if we could be one in 200,000 to have an anomaly kill our baby then SIDS could happen to our baby too. we weren't willing to take any risks so we researched and researched and after reviewing the angel care motion senser mat for the crib we decided on this. it is reliable in every way. the alarm doesn't wake or daughter but it wakes us. a few false alarms from it getting worked off her diaper but nothing you can't live with. it clips nicely to the diaper, it's compact and lightweight, it blinks to alert you that it's working everytime it senses your baby taking a breath, it alerts you when the battery gets low which lasts for months, and it's very durable and well made. we trust this little monitor now it has proven itself and we do not double check anymore. my daughter is 4 months now and she wears it every time she is asleep in her crib away from us. I believe it has gone off a few times when she's stopped breathing in her sleep but shaking Alli made her remember to breath again which is probably why the more advanced one vibrates when it goes off. I recommend this to anyone and will always have my babies using this until they are 1 when the threat of SIDS is no longer there. it was definitely worth the price and you can see the price in the product.
Upgraded to the newer Levana version after my old one stopped working. I like that this one is slightly bigger and the indicator light is much brighter. I couldn't sleep during the 2 nights I was between monitors. My daughter has reflux and chokes several times throughout the night. I sleep much better knowing the alarm will go off if she stops breathing. I've only had false alarms while nursing her in certain positions. I attached a piece of velcro to my old monitor as it wasn't as tight as my new one. I will be adding a piece to my new one just to make sure its extra secure.
I bought this monitor and I'm very happy with it, I decided to go with this one instead of the "under the mattress"' monitors as we realized babies don't only sleep in their cribs, the first few day our baby sleeps with us, and also the convenience of taking it with us wherever we go. For the little money you spend the Peace of mind it gives you is priceless, don't hesitate to buy this monitor it really will let you sleep better. My wife and I are both doctors and we were always preoccupied with SIDS, now we can let our little one alone for a few minutes knowing that if in the unfortunate event that she stops breathing we will know right away. The quality of the monitor is great, is loud enough to hear it from another room and its LED's light are bright to see them even during the day. Overall 10/10
I was so nervous about my child sleeping in the bassinet without some way of me knowing if something had happened to him in his sleep. I read a lot of reviews on this product before I made my purchase and everyone had good things to say. I have used it for two nights now and I am very pleased, it works exactly as described and definitely helps me sleep better at night.
I am glad to have something like this to replace my Angelcare monitor. The Angelcare worked fine but was not portable at all and we did have a couple false alarms although a false alarm is welcome any day over a non-functioning alarm. The Oma is portable and has a much softer tip than expected for comfort.
Only used for 2 weeks so far, but it works great! The pan/zoom isn't difficult to use (like reviews said). Love the screen size! Sound/volume is decent. No complaints yet! Plan on buying second camera for baby #2 room. Haven't had a chance to use the diaper clip monitor yet.
Bought a Levana Stella baby monitor.Received the item from Walmart quickly.The instructions are terrible,but once you figure it out the system works very well.Go to the Levana website and it has much better instructions on how this unit works.The instructions that came with my unit was basically a picture of the icons with the name of what they are.That is all the instructions that came with it.I have used other products that transmit video without having to go through the internet and I was impressed with how well this worked.I bought it over other brands because it was the only one where almost everyone that reviewed it commented on how far they could take the monitor and still pick up video and audio.The pictures in total darkness were incredible.This was also one of the few monitors that had an AC adapter for both the camera and the monitor.Most would have one or the other,but not both.It also boasts one of the best battery lives for the monitor.You can also buy additional cameras if you desire.
I am a first time mom, so of course I spent a lot of time worrying. I was able to sleep so much better knowing that if my son were to quit breathing I would be awakened immediately. This is a must have for moms, and I recommend this product to all of my friends. The only reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5, is I am not sure of the quality of the product. The first one I purchased would not even turn on, so I had to send it back and get a new one. After using the second one for 4 months, it quit working as well and I had to return it for a new one. That being said, each time something went wrong Levana had great customer service and helped me right away. Even with the problems, I still LOVE this monitor!
I love the idea of this monitor, and think that for most people it is a GREAT purchase. It would definitely add peace of mind to my nights if it worked for my baby. However, the Little Mister is in the 60th percentile for length and 5th percentile for weight. AKA, he's a skinny little monkey. The OMA monitor won't sit flat against his tummy and gives false alarms because he doesn't have the normal amount of baby pudge in his middle. And I say "normal"... This probably works for 99% of babies and I just happen to have birthed an outlier. All that to say, if your little one doesn't have much flubber, think twice.
