I bought this mower 5 years ago and it has been fantastic! I haven't had a minute's trouble with it. Easy to start. Easy to operate. Great value.
I purchased this unit a few weeks back. I had it shipped to the local Walmart store. I used the lawn mower twice since i bought it. The first time I tried it, after putting in the oil that came with it. It started right away, first pull. I really like this MTD Yard Man. The price is right for the work you can get out of it. I never had a Self-Propelled Mower. When in that mode, it takes off a lot of pressure as far as the old fashion pushing alone. It feel like driving a car. I love it and I know you will also. try it the price is very right. I checked some other stores and they wanted more than 350 dollars.
I find the Yard-Man mower easy to start. The self-propel feaure works great. I stand 6' 1" and would like the handle bars to be a little taller, but for my daughter who is 5' 4" she loves the handle bar height.
Easy start, Good traction on self propelled feature, nice & even cuts. Good value for the price. Very easy & minimal assembly.
This mower is a good value for a basic front wheel drive mower. Nothing fancy about it, but that is what I expected for the price. The handle can be uncomfortable if you do not use gloves.
I am very disappointed in this mower. The mulching feature is not worth the trouble. I have to keep cleaning underneath the mower several times each time I mow. I have a regular residential size yard. It's a heavy mower and is difficult to lift and clean underneath it. The self propelled feature is slow. I could push mow without this feature and be finished in half the time with my previous mower. Even walking with the self propeled it still is a heavy mower and this makes it harder to mow than a small push mower.
