Roku - Premiere Streaming Media Player with Premium High Speed HDMI Cable and Simple Remote - Black

Bought this to get off of our LG Smart TV with the integrated WebOS because this advertised support for 4K streaming. Works about 50% of the time, the rest of the time, it has a lot off trouble loading 4k videos on Netflix, amazon prime and sling that the LG Smart TV had no trouble with it at all. The lack of a 5ghz wireless connection and only wireless B/G/N support is ancient in terms of wireless technology by at least a decade. Even with 500/100 internet, this thing can still only manage about 1.8mbps throughput from my wireless router. The price makes it no big loss but save yourself the money and put it towards something else with better internal hardware and modern WiFi support.

I had this streaming player about a year or two and it has constant over heating issues . I repeat the steps of unplugging at least 10 mins but still over heats? I am disappointed as I switched from the fire stick to Roku after hearing such great things and cutting the cord. If roku doesnt improve it will loose valuable customers so improved.

I have been a fan of Roku for years gave them as gifts and have them in many rooms in my home. Bought this about a year ago and have had problems from the get go Terrible product over all. • Shut off and restarted • Continual dropped signals • Will not connect - Telling me I have to many channels delete some [Only have 14) This is a Terrible product and would recommend you don't buy

This is the 5th Roku I have purchased and the first one that doesn't have a WiFi remote. Al my previous Rokus are mounted behind TVs and work great, but this one needs line of sight to work. Extremely, extremely disappointed. Nothing in the literature indicates that. I fell very ripped off. I am also concerned about how warm this unit feels, running that hot, I doubt it will last long. “Premier” is a serious misnomer.

So far our of 6 Roku Premiere that I have ordered I have had two go bad. The wifi keeps dropping because it starts running slower and slower on the wifi. When this happens YouTube will not work. If I do a check on the Wifi, it tells me my wifi is too slow. I have three other Roku's that are working just fine and they are further from the wifi router. I have a very fast Internet connection. It is a good product but beware of this if it happens to you.
