[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pot will work for cooking anything that holds heat well and does a great job in the oven. Its large size makes cooking for big parties attainable. This product quality speaks for itself and this thanksgiving made cooking a feast for loved ones a stress-free fun time. This pot makes us want to stay in a cook more at-home meals. On top of this, the color is rich and a must have addition to your kitchen!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great size for cooking a big family dinner. Used this to make a bolognese sauce for 11 people and it had room to spare. To make a proper bolognese sauce takes at least five hours of simmering anger evaporating away milk and wine. The cast iron was perfect at distributing the heat evenly to maintain an extremely low simmer that steel or copper pots cannot. This is an heirloom product that will last a lifetime with proper care. Staub is my favorite cast iron cookware.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've wanted a large volume Cocotte for year and finally found a beauty of a 9qt for a great price. The Grenadine color matches my Oval Roaster, which was my first Staub pot, and it's a stunner of a color. As far as cooking surfaces go I prefer Staub's to LeCreuset. I just prefer the black to a white surface. I also outfitted it with their adorable Pig knob. Btw Staub, you should make dish themed knows for parties/holidays. Like a green bean knob for green bean casserole and so on...just an idea. Send me the royalties.
This gorgeous grenadine cocotte adorns our Christmas Eve table every year. I use it to make cioppino, a fish stew. I love the size - perfect depth for a whole crab and tons of shellfish. It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish building your flavor base. The pan works on any cooking surface, including induction. I have used it on my BBQ many times as an additional heat source, its safe up to 500F.
All the great attributes and benefits of Staub ratcheted up too handle many hungry mouths. This fabulous cast iron will do all you want it to, and for as many people as you have to feed. Size does not affect this pot. It will cook as evenly as you expect it to. And the durable enamel coating inside makes for easy clean up and the deep enamel coating on the outside makes for a beautiful presentation at the table. This is not your run of the mill cast iron. This is lifetime quality stuff - a pot to build memories with and that the kids and grand kids will use too.
