The lid does not seal. The pot looses liquid to fast to cook properly. Very disappointing.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) New addition to my my staub collection. So far performs as expected. Minor imperfections under the handle, little rough, but the interior is perfect. Quite expressive compared to most other enameled cookware, but the quality is better. Too costly to buy a full set so I bought slowly over the years. The braiser was my first and I used it for everything. Really like the black interior finish, personally find it better than others on the market that I have tried. I feel it browns food better, doesn't stain as easy, in fact I've had mine for 5 years and no permanent stains. Just follow the cleaning, storing, and heating guidelines.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) love how it bakes my bread. and cooks my food without sticking to the bottom.
I've had my Cocotte for a little over two weeks now. Thus far I've baked bread and made two Indian curry dishes. It cleans up like a dream and the exterior is gorgeous. I did notice that there was a small white spot on the side where it seems as though the enamel wasn't completely colored. I also noticed that on the inside there were three small spots that weren't covered by the black enamel coating. There is no cracking or chipping to be found but for the price point, I do expect quality control to be a bit better.
Absolutely love it! It's just as beautiful in person as I was hoping. It's the perfect red. Initially I couldn't decide which size would be best, there's so much debate online, so I was uncertain about the 5.5 qt, (I feed 5 for dinner.) This size is perfect. I could even do a bit more than what my recipe called for and have a good amount of leftovers, even if that means maybe searing a couple extra pieces of meat on my skillet. I seared 4 large chicken breasts, and added the rest of my recipe, simmered for 25 min. and it came out perfectly. The chicken was tender and delicious. All the flavors were present. The chicken absorbed more flavor than it does in a regular pot. This basically did what my crockpot does, just in a half hour rather than 8 hours, and I didn't have to sear the chicken in a pan creating another dish. I'm so happy with it! Also clean up was an absolute breeze!! Cant wait to make pasta and stew! Using this makes cooking so fun and extra special.
