Connects to Wi-Fi but it will not connect to Ecobee.com. You have to hard rest the Ecobee AND router otherwise you have a "dumb" thermostat with no remote control. Even then it does connect to the mothership, it work for a few hours and drop connection to Ecobee. Wi-Fi strength is 97%. I even set-up a dedicated 2.4 Wi-Fi band for it and still it drops. Ecobee says it is my Wi-Fi settings. I say it is poor Ecobee software programing since every other 2.4 band width smart product works just fine. Great dumb thermostat, horrible smart thermostat.

i had an electrician install it. he said that the process has changed some, but it was very easy. there are some things in the app that are annoying, but i like that this shows humidity in the room as well as outdoor temp

Tgeee are remarkably straight forward to install, can be locked with a pin code, and the cell phone app is very decent yoo

This is our first smart thermostat and we are enjoying it a lot, so far. This replaced the thermostat that has been in the house, since the 90s. Installation instructions were pretty straightforward. One thing that I was not expecting to be an issue is our whole house humidifier. The installation of that tied into our furnace really made the wiring different. Luckily, after following the wires around, I found that our “G” wire was capped at the humidifier and wasn't being used. So I untwisted it from the furnace side and plugged it in. Viola! Works perfectly. My wife got the thermostat for free from her work's health benefits plan, so it was a no brainer to upgrade to this. I will say though, after some more time playing with this and seeing how well it's going to work for us, we'll probably upgrade to the premium one. There is a lot more that I'd like to do with it. Can't argue with free though.
