e.l.f. Studio Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow, 81141 Confetti, 0.11 oz

I was really excited to try out this product because I enjoy a lot of elf's products. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the eyeshadow's texture. I expected something a little bit more creamy and smooth. It said in the description that the eyeshadow had a whipped gel texture, but mine was dry out and when I tried to swatch the product, there was no pigmentation pay off and chunky glitters came off. The colors were really pretty, but I just wish the texture was a little better even if the price tag for this product is low.

I bought this product in Soiree on sale a while ago and love it. It's got a lovely, sparkly mauve color to it and has a putty-like consistency. It's not difficult to apply and is a perfect shade for blue/gray eyes that doesn't look too neutral or too neon in color. Best blended with cool browns.

I just bought this two days ago and I wore it to a football game where I was cheering and then when I got home I went straight to bed without taking it off. When I woke up the eyeshadow was on and it still looked absolutely amazing. I also put eye primer before applying and I believe that helped it last even longer than usual.

I don't know why Elf would title this as "long lasting" or even "lustrous". When I see the word "lustrous" in the title, I don't immediately think glittery or shimmery (which is what this product is), I think it would have more of a sheen. Also, it is not "long lasting" at all. If you wear this alone, without adding other powdery shadows on top of it, it does not last more than a few hours. It's also really chunky and thick, and somewhat difficult to blend out. It settles in the creases of my eyelids and causes my lids to produce more oil...which is odd, because I don't have oily eyelids at all. It's also not very pigmented at all, it just goes on like a chunky jelly glitter type thing. If you want it to even be remotely opaque, you're going to have to try putting it on thick...which just looks cakey and awful. If you layer another eyeshadow on top, it sets it in place for a while, but again, it looks pretty cakey. I would expect a creamy/mousse or gel-like product to not have any fallout whatsoever, but wow, does this product have a lot of glittery fallout.

I LOVE this eye shadow. It goes on easily, and you can build it up for thicker coverage if you want or just keep it nice and sheer. It doesn't get all gross in the creases of your eye, or rub off easily - I've had a huge problem with some glittery eye shadows transferring to all over my face by the end of the evening (even with primer) but haven't had this problem with ELF. Definitely would recommend this one.
