Garmin Nuvi3580lmtrefurb Refurbished Nuv

The Bluetooth connected easily to my phone and worked well, the maps were good. It took me a while to work the voice activation as it wanted an American accent. The traffic receiver was a bonus and it routed us away from traffic many times. Once I returned home I updated the software on the garmin website. All very easy.

I can believe that i use to have a gps 5 years ago, and it surpass the brand new models like this garmin 3580LMT. the gps is thinner and fancy yes, but on the features are lacking a lot. it does not have a truck route mode. ok for all the people that drive a regular cargo van or astro van with commercial plates like me, of course we dont need all the fancy stuff with commercial gps, like height, weight, bridges heights points of commercial trucking. We just need a route that wont take us to the parkways, in the New York and Northern NJ areas. I dont think we need to pay extra 200usd more to buy a fancy commercial trucking gps. It only give you 2 options to your destination, if you try to re route from the menu nothing happen, doesn't give you more options, so are stuck the their recomendations. the recalculation when you misess a exit is slow. the screen does't give enought information, you have to be touching the gps for everything, so you are in the same position as you where texting. Doesn't give a work destination. a mean come on a guess 80percent of the people who buy a gps will have at least two destinations, HOME,WORK. even if you don't like work, but hey that's life. The only way to make this gps to work with acurracy, is to download apps, and sync with your phone. Everybody today uses their phone and google maps for a route destination with best possibles routes, we trust google 100percent. so now you have to download the route from your phones google maps, to this gps. Why can you trust this gps 100percent from the start, well because it gives you routes that maybe are not the best, and worst it take you wrong places and then come back to the place you were before so you can continue on your way!! unbelivable. Maybe USA is use to the garmin situation because i see good reviews, but i will spec more from recent products. I know what are thinking, why don't you just kept your 5 year old gps. Well because i need map upgrades and traffic alerts, and im tired of using my phones. just to double check routes and destinations. but hey im just the regular joe, i spec from a 150usd gadget to have enough features.

At first thought I had made a great purchase. Unit worked ok, loaded my info and was actually sharp looking. But when installed in auto realized the glass front was like looking at a mirror. The reflection was terrible had trouble seeing the info in display. Returned unit for one that had non-glass front.

I got a great price on a refurbished Garmin Nuvi 3580 GPS... it arrive within a few days and all items were packaged as advertised,, The ad said it was refurbished but it's brand new. Glad I bought it..
