This phone has all I wanted and almost all that I could want, and at a great price. I'd have a hard time finding any that I like this much for near the price. The wide-angle lens helps in tight settings. The zoom, though not optical, is the best I've had. The pictures are great and the operations of the phone are smooth. In the past I've used iPhones and several Pixel phones. Most were great phones for their era. This one stepped it up more than most releases. The tensor chip is designed as I'd want even though some are faster. This is designed for photo images and does a great job with other app tasks too. If I had more bucks, the only change I'd make is to grab the 6 Pro, but the 6 is a perfect bang per buck choice for what I needed (and the 5a 5G is a great deal too). I'd pick this Pixel 6 again without hesitation.
So far I like the phone. I don't like it that I can't use my finger print with the glass protector. It's gets annoying. Trying to use my fingerprint when I can't. I love the camera. Beautiful pictures. I love the photo shop it come with. I feel the speaker could be louder. But overall I like the phone.
I think the Pixel 6 is a really solid smartphone. I'm upgrading from a Pixel 2 so keep that in mind as you read this review. I'm not a huge data user, but the 6 is proving to have really good battery life. The fingerprint reader also works much better on the 6 than the 2, and I'm making use of it almost exclusive of a security pin (fingerprint tech was unreliable at best on the 2). Camera works well. No complaints. I wasn't sure about the weird camera bump on the back of the phone, but it hasn't been an issue. I don't even notice it.The screen is a huge improvement, and I think its outstanding. Loving the minimal bezel, resolution, and flawless function. Despite the increase in length over the Pixel 2, it doesn't feel oversized and is easy to pocket, or type with. Swiping is a bit different, but I'm acclimating. Device setup was straightforward, almost idiot-proof. The 6 is a really nice device and I would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade.
The incoming and outgoing sound are poor, sounding as though there are no highs or lows. Only mids make it through, and even those frequencies are getting clipped. The non-phone functions are pretty good (crisp bright display, fast CPU, good keyboard response). But the poor phone audio is a crippling issue for me.Then again, what's a better alternative? Samsung lost it's mind and went headfirst into flip phone production, offering no high performance static-body phones to compete with the Pixel 6. Apples are apples and I just don't like them. It's a strange time for technology
I went to this phone from a pixel3 (before that I had a pexel 1) and for the price it doesn't really seem like I jumped 3 generations of phones. The only reason I left my pixel 3 is because the battery was wearing out and the microphone was failing.
