Haier 12,000 Btu Cool

We have only had the Haier 12000btu / cool // 9500 btu heat system for a short time. However, in this heat we are more than satisfied. We only run the unit approx 1/3 of the time because of the cooling efficiency, no more is required. I would strongly recommend this product and give it 4 & 1/2 stars at present.

The install went well, but after turning it on the fan made a terrible rattling noise. I call the repair number and couldn't get service for te working days. The good news is the repair person comes to your home. I was told the unit is fixed as I review the unit.

I thought is was/is a little expensive, however it sure hepls to keep my kids from beeing soaken wet at 1:00 am. And I don't have to argue with my landlord any more about putting in some kind of AC unit. It is kind of loud, but no on complasins about not being able to sleep and it actually cools our 14X20 living room. And our 40X12 RV.

I have a workshop and I "try" to do some wookworking but with the heat and humidity in our area I was limited to the time I could spend in my shop. I have heart disease and MUST be cool. I researched these portable air conditioners for weeks before making my decision. My shop is 400 sq. feet and gets hot very fast in the morning. With this 12,000BTU unit I stay cool. I had to make a few adjustments to the window kit and will need to put in some weather stripping, but the installation is very easy. When I started the unit for the first time the temp. in the room was 91F and within 45 minutes it had cooled to 83F. With my "research" I checked with many companies and WalMart is by far the cheapest. This unit also has a 9500BTU heating unit, which I have not tried yet, but if it works as well as the cooling unit I will be very pleased..
