HWF05XC7-2 Window Air Conditioner

Used only twice and now when I attempt to plug it in it trips the reset button on the power cord so it will not turn on at all. Very disappointment with this unit. Bought this around the end of last summer but only used for 1 day before it turned cold, and have only used it 1 day this summer.

I purchased this unit for my first full summer in the Seattle-Tacoma Area. It works well to cool my living room and kitchen area, on a 90+ degree day. Notice I say "cool" not cold. If you are using this to get arctic cold please drop the money to get a 10,000 btu unit. If you don't here are some more inexpensive alternatives. Place the unit in the largest room in your home. Use box fans, or the new tower fans- whichever you have, set to medium or high, to push the air to other rooms in the house. If you have ceiling fans in those rooms, turn those on to medium or low. The cooler air should circulate and push the hotter stagnant air out of your house. Also try switching the unit on the night before a warm spell. This should allow the home to cool better and stay that way longer as opposed to turning it on during the late morning. Let me know if this helps.

Having a small space to make life comfortable can be a challenge. My decision for purchasing this product was probably one of my best in life, so far. It arrived expeditiously after purchase. It was very easy to install in one of the windows of my studio apartment. I thought that installation may required some extra assistance, but I was proved wrong. I was able to take care of the whole project myself. this was a very pleasant endeavor for I am 53 years old and live alone. The unit is doing a very excellent job. It is quiet, efficient, blends well with the decor in my second floor residential unit. Whenever the unit is not in use it easily hides behind curtains. The fan only mode is excellent for cool nights. It really brings the outside temperature in to my space in little time. I currently have an air filter unit inside my apt and together with the a/c unit the room temperature is easily under control without much expense.

I FOUND THE AIR CONDITIONER EASY TO INSTALL AND A PERFECT FIT FOR A SIDE SLIDING WINDOW. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE STRANGE CLICKING NOISE IT MAKES (LIKE SOMETHING IS HOOKED TO THE SPINNING BLOWER INSIDE) I'VE TRIED TO CHECK IT OUT BUT CAN'T FIND ANYTHING. OTHER THAN THAT BLOWS NICE COLD AIR.

I was not sure if I would buy this product or not. Went to the Wal-mart in West Haven, CT and looked at all the air conditioners and decided on this one. Putting it together was quite easy and the instructions were in english. The noise is not an issue my family loves it!!! This makes dad look great!!
