[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this item about six weeks ago and have had it for a month. I have used it for so many different items. Coffee, herbs, spices and more. I love the metal bowls and different sizes offered. The lids and shaker cover are a real bonus to the package. In true KitchenAid fashion the quality is top notch and I will use it often.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this grinder mainly for grinding spices and it works just great for that purpose. Works fine as a coffee grinder, too.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this over 2 months ago and use it constantly. I keep my individual spices in their own little grinding bowl with storage lid that comes with this spice and coffee grinder. I bought extra bowls separately to keep my spices in. Everytime I use a spice I give it a couple spins with this to freshen spices up for best flavor.
Bought this grinder a few months ago to replace a Hamilton Mill we had for years. We got this one because it was only slightly more expensive than the other grinders and because it's KitchenAid. We expected a quality product. Sadly, we have the same issue that many others have had because of the lid design. It leaks coffee grounds every time we use it.
My husband and I decided to put a spice grinder on our wedding registry, and picked KitchenAid due to its reputation for quality. What a mistake! The lids for the two spice grinding bowls don't fit, so they pop off during grinding and the spice gets everywhere. The Coffee bowl, too, doesn't snugly seal to the grinding lid, so coffee grounds end up all over the place. The parts that are stainless steel work as intended, but given that no one seems to do QC on the plastic parts, I have to anti-recommend this product.
