Vitamix - 32-ounce Dry Grains Container - Clear

Love my new container for making flour and the whole wheat bread recipe is out of this world! Reason the rating is not high is because I was very disappointed when it showed up without a tamper—especially for the price!

I bought the 32 oz dry grain container to make pizza crust and the motor cuts off everytime from overheating. My 25 year old food processor works better than the Vitamix for making pizza dough.

I believe my Vitamix was purchased in the early 1990s. I've used it constantly since, especially the dry container which served to grind the rice for our waffles every Sunday morning since. It finally wore out this year, though the liquid one still seems okay. So I asked you which of available replacements would work. I guess I've had the replacement for over a month now and have been amazed to discover that it takes me almost twice as long to grind the rice kernels as it did with the old one. And the rice never gets to the desired fineness; I have to put it into an even more ancient coffee grinder that was purchased second-hand in the eighties to get it to the desired fineness. The shape is different; this is more square and the old one was more rounded. I don't know if that's the source of the lost efficiency. I won't return this since I'd have nothing to prep my waffles in, but I am very, very disappointed.

I have found many uses for my Dry Grains Container including: grinding dog kibble for pup who has a tough time chewing. I was able to replace/recycle other small appliances, such as, my coffee grinder because this does the job, and does it well. However, the unit did not come with a tamper. This doesn't make sense to me especially for the price paid! When working to grind dry grains you most certainly need a tamper. I am very disappointed and refuse to spend more money on the tamper; thus, it makes this dry container limited on what it is intended to be used for. Very misleading.

So glad I purchased this 32-ounce container for my Vitamix. Due to it's smaller size, I've found myself using it on a daily basis for the many recipes I have. It can be used for wet ingredients also.
