Vitamix - Ascent Series A2300 Blender - Red

Love this! As someone who eats primarily plant based this blender is just what I needed to make all my vegan queso, dips, dressings and other yummy plant based foods.

I'm uniquely punishing on my home blenders. Finally pulled the trigger and splurged for the Vitamix. I immediately made a batch of frozen banana ice cream which is quite thick. There were air pockets and spinning blades, but no vortex developed like my Kitchenaid. So I used the tamper which helped a little. After a couple minutes the blender shut down and read E1 on the display. Apparently the motor overheated and went into a disable mode so it can cool down. It was unusable for 20 minutes. I called Vitamix and said take it away. To their credit, they stuck by their policy and paid return shipping and thanked me for trying their product. Can't help but wonder if the large diameter at the base of the pitcher on the “low profile” models hinders the ability to mix very thick concoctions. If I tried another Vitamix it would be a traditional pitcher that's narrower at the bottom. Great for most people, just not for me...

What a great blender! If your worried about a lack of features, dont be! With the app this blender becomes just as functional as the higher models with the presets for smoothies, ice cream, etc. Couldn't be happier with our purchase and the red looks fantastic! Matches perfectly with our stand mixer.

People keep asking me why I bought this particular model. In short, It looks like a classic vitamix blender, but it has a little secret. The motor is more powerful and it has hidden programing that you can access from the cell phone app.

10 year warranty is awesome and I'm glad that the company backs their product for the price point. I need to look at all the possibilities before I can give it a excellent rating. Been making soup and nut butter, to this point. Cleaning is about the only issue I have with it right now. The container is made of a material that cleans pretty well although, with the blades so close to the bottom, it does take a little work. Also, if I had to say another very minor issue, the tool to help push the items off the edge, could be a little longer to get the mixed nuts pushed into the area that can be blended. With the nut butter, I do turn it off and do a bit of scraping before the final product.
