My first duty in am, is making my coffee (which my programmed coffee maker could do, but I have it ready to go). The aroma of this coffee is yummy and is very indicative of its super taste. In fact, just having the coffee in the maker smells wonderful, even before it's brewed. It is one of my favorite coffees.
I think Boca Java has asked me to review this product 6 or 7 times over the years and I have complied at least 3 times or more. But it seems so darn redundant and a waste of my time. I say the same thing each time. I really like the coffee. It has a solid flavor with a very slightly nutty taste that mellows bitterness. Until they discontinue the coffee, which I doubt will happen, I'll keep ordering it.
This is a great coffee for times you don't want a "foo-foo" coffee (a.k.a. a flavored coffee). It hits the spot perfectly and seems to be well received by both foo-foo drinkers and "give-it-to-me-straight" drinkers. It seems is the "perfect" roast to please everyone at once!
Out of all the Coffees I have tried through Boca Java, the Guatemalan Adventure Coffee has to be my favorite. I like a rich dark roast with a smooth "coffee" flavor. This fits the bill. It's strength is dark and rick yet has a mellow flavor. And there is no other flavors mixed in, like nutty flavors or floral flavors. It's just a GREAT cup of COFFEE. Enjoy.
First of all I love coffee in general but this is by far my favorite everyday coffee. For those that think it too weak - most likely that is due to the grind being too coarse. The strength of coffee of course depends on how fine the grind is, not just the amount of coffee you use.. If the coffee is not strong enough but you do not like a Bold roast flavor, try getting whole bean and grinding it a little finer for a stronger more satisfying cup!
Very smooth. Excellent Roast. My wife likes decaf and I don't so I have to make it 1/2 and 1/2. Makes an excellent brew, full bodied, smooth and great flavor and I can't say that for any other decaf. After she has her coffee, I make mine and it is much better in my opinion but the decaf was one of the best I have tasted.
I'm a coffee purist; don't like milk, cream, lattes, and other junk dumped into my coffee, so the beans have to make it work. This has a surprisingly pleasing mellowness to it with a hint of something a little bit nutty. After taste, if any, is that nuttiness on the tongue. I've switched from what I was previously ordering on a periodical order to this, it's so good.
As an alternative to the Boca Sunrise Blend, I like to drink this as my am coffee. Coffees with Arabica beans often are mistreated when companies roast them and as a result of this, they taste bitter and unpalatable. This is not the case with the roasters at your company. They know how to make the flavor of Arabic beans sing with pleasure both in my nose and in my mouth.
Being someone who is always looking for the full-on hit of Java, I was a bit taken back by the lighter character of the bean. When I forgave it for not being Italian Roast I found the character full and interesting. I do not mind curbing my robust ways.
Adventurous is not the word I would use to describe my experience with this Guatemalan coffee. It was mild, yet full, with no ruminating flavor. My thought was this would be a great coffee to lace with chocolate or hazelnut flavoring, or with the right alcoholic ingredient around the holidays. Should be labeled as mild, not medium!
