Researched many and found this unit has features others in the price range do not have. Am cooling a 180 sq. foot room and this product does the job. Has a pvc window slider kit whereas some I've researched do not. Easy to assemble and to the point instructions. Have been using 7 days a week for 1 month and so far, I am pleased with the choice I've made. Walmart's Site-to-Store procedure is fantastic.
We live in a small apartment in Vegas, needless to say it gets VERY HOT here. Our bedroom never cools off during the summer months, we bought this AC and it work wonderful...I set it for 73 degrees and it does the job!!! Our cats are Happy and we Sleep Like Babies now!!! Wish we had bought it 2 years ago.
Works perfectly for the bedroom and is not too loud. Easy to operate, bought for a (very) senior citizen. Keeps the bedroom cool and she can watch TV.
after reading several reviews for several different products i chose this one. it does help that the vents move but these products are ssem to be mainly used in addition to having an ac. well here in AZ any way. i am using it to cool a bedroom but the thing is that its still getting up to 110+ degrees here and my main ac is broken. I purchased this to take the place of the main ac but the most it can do is cool the room to 95 in the day time and about 88 over night depending on how cool its gets outside. good thing is that I am working for most of the day hours, but some cool is better than no cool at all. I have noticed that if i turn on the ceiling fan it makes the unit temp show that its gettin warmer in the room.
I wish I knew the remote control was the only way to control the temp and off and on. The screws to connect the window vent to the unit are too short. The noise is not bad at all. I can turn up my cen. air at night and use the unit in my bedroom suite. I am in Texas and it has been over 100 for weeks. I live alone and it works like a champ. Great to have a backup. Try calling a repair man for the cen. air if it goes out! I would have to find a motel for 7 dogs and 4 cats and me!
First, let me say that this product is an excellent buy when compared to the price of other similar portable air conditioners. However, that's assuming the buyer receives all parts necessary to assemble the product. My box was missing the window plate and screw set, which are used to connect to the ventilation tube (which in turn releases to the outside). I contacted Walmart.com about the missing parts, and they promptly gave me a partial refund. Contacting Royal Sovereign to obtain the missing parts was a bit more trying. I called them on the phone and e-mailed them twice with no response. I then called again on the phone and was told to fax them some information. After sending the fax, I was contacted by a representative and received the missing parts within a few days. After receiving the screw set and window plate, we finally fully assembled the product. Assembly itself is not difficult, but the screws are not long enough to firmly attach the ventilation pipe to the window plate (a complaint I noticed in a previous review as well). So we had to temporarily tape the pipe to the plate until we can purchase longer screws. Also, there are no manual A/C switches; it is only able to be operated with a remote. Because I saw in some previous reviews that leaving the batteries in the remote causes the batteries to go out quickly, I decided to take the batteries out of the remote in between uses just to be safe. The A/C itself works very well. It cools the room quickly and does not need to be drained of water like some portable air conditioners. The air filter is also easy to access and clean. It is somewhat noisy, but it is a humming noise, which is not disruptive to my sleep. Although I can see areas in need of improvement with this product, I would recommend it to others based on its value and performance.
I really like my new air conditioner especially the fact I don't have to put the air conditioner in te window.
Very well made and does the job. Fairly quiet. Even though I only needed this to lower the temp in my bedroom 10 degrees from 80 that is in the rest of the house I believe it is a good value for me. I'm glad I bought it!
Needed a portable room (for a small room) AC for the few hot days here. I don't have any other cooling in the house. Hoped it would be quiet but it is about as loud as a normal window unit. There are no onboard controls. You have to use the remote for everything. It blows cold air and is adequate for a small room.
the only good thing about this unit is that its portable. i was going to use this unit to cool down my living room but it barely cools down my own room which is a 8' x 8' it does generate a lot of heat and its pretty noisy. i wouldn't recommend this product to anyone thumbs down
