I love the canned Hormel Premium Chicken Breast. I have been buying it for many years. It is so nice to be able to whip up chicken salad in minutes by just adding some grapes and pecans. The chicken is flavorful and it is a lifesaver on those nights I don't feel like cooking. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Anytime I want to make chicken salad and there's no fresh chicken available, I use Hormel. I only like the breast of the chicken. This product makes great salad. It's also good eaten with nothing.
Compared to other products that I have tried, this product had more meat and juice than I was expecting. With other products that I have tried, their meat were very scarce. As you can see from the photo, the meat is nice and chunky to add to a salad or how ever you choose to use it! It tastes like chicken and not a processed meat which I love! The juice in the can is a chicken broth and not water. I mixed this product up to make a chicken salad and it was delicious! I have already repurchased this item! I was not aware of this product before participating but I am so glad that I know about it now! I would definitely recommend this product to others! I use it in a chicken noodle casserole dish. With sourcream, cream of mushroom soup, milk & cheese. Delish
I used this in my chicken salad recipe and served to family and friends observing if anyone could spot the difference and no one did when I did the unveiling all were pleasantly surprised that such a good astu product came from a canned good. I immediately stocked up my pantry as purchasing rotisserie chicken is not always convenient for me. This is a very handy and versatile product that can be used in a casserole, sandwiches, salads, empanadas, chicken soup, noodles and vegetables, etc. I like that there is no salt added, it makes it perfect for a low sodium diet, but allowing to keep the good tasting chicken. I was a bit skeptical because I had tried canned meat before and it tasted, well, canned! Upon opening Hormel Premium Chicken Breast, I was taken aback how yummy it smelled--it actually made my stomach growl! It was pretty tasty, too. I ordered this, with a bit of trepidation, but was pleasantly surprised at its taste, texture and quality. I like to keep some sort of 'canned' meat on my shelf to add to a salad or a can of plain (tomato) soup. I don't have the facilities to cook a whole chicken, so something like this fills the void. With seasoning according to what I have added it to, it does the trick.
