I previously had a Holmes Hepa for my home office that ran $90.00 new and needed the filters replaced every 6 months. Two hepas ($40) and two carbon ($12.00). It was noisey but claimed to filter 99.7%. I put this filter in the office and you can barely tell it's running it's so quiet. Keeps the air just as fresh as the previous filter and uses less than half the electrcity as the Holmes. Wow, as one reviewer said 42-54 watts. Like a low watt lightbulb. Now I will save $104 bucks a year replacing filters and my electric bill will get a break.
I really like this product, it is quiet when operating and has a permanent filter, so your not always having to buy one......last air cleaner I had the filter was $40, every time I had to change it and it was so noisy when operating. I am very happy with this product, it was worth the money.
I used a Kill-a-watt meter on the TrueAir Air Purifier. 42 watts on low and 54 watts on high. It is very quiet, even on high. I evaluated it by running one around the clock in my bedroom. It makes the air so fresh, it is like diving in a swimming pool when I walk in my room. I got another one for my living room. My cats like to sleep in the fresh air stream.
Wow I had no idea that such a small appliance could make such a big difference. It's great you can barely hear it at all. I have 3 big dogs and they track in alot of dust and dirt but even when its on high you still can't hear. The vacumable filter is also very handy, just a quick suck with the vaccum hose and it's like new again. I recommend it to anyone who is thinking about buying one!
I would recommend this to anyone with animals in house. Helps keep the air fresh. Also helps with dust. The only thing I would change about the item is the sound. Wish it was more quiet but you get use to it. I never turn it off.
We upgraded from a 15 year old air cleaner that was very loud and made even louder because it reverberated off our hardwood floors. We did a lot of research before purchasing and the HB was rated highest for the price, so we figured anything would be an improvement. It exceeded our expectations tremendously! The noise factor is practically non-existent and it turns off to conserve energy when the air quality is already good. I'm very pleased with the purchase.
We have second hand smoke coming in through our air filtration system from our adjoining neighbors and bought this unit to help purify the air. It didn't help. I think that it actually made it more concentrated. So we are taking it bak. It would probably work better for everyday odors but not for something that strong!
I bought this product for the bedroom because I have 2 dogs that sleep there with me, so the dog dander and general smells can get annoying. The product said it had an "Ionizer" but I detected no smell of ions and further inspection of the electronics showed no mechanism for creating ions. I previously used a ionic purifier in that room so I could tell the difference right away. This product has nice features, like the remove and clean filter that is supposed to last for years, and the switch speeds are convenient, but it just didn't really clear the air like the ionic purifier does. I returned this product and went back to my ionic.
I suckered for this air cleaner because the ad led me to believe it was an IONIC type air purifier. It is labeled IONIC on the front of it, which in the ad the front looks like it's metal but is plastic in reality. I bought an air purifier because I have a terrible dust problem but this thing doesn't work. On the coffee table right next to it a film of dust accumulated after 2 weeks of running. If you want a IONIC spend the few extra bucks and buy the real thing.
Horrible little filter. It was quiet, but more like a fan. Didn't clean anything out of the air, simply pushed it around. Waste of money. Ended up throwing it away as it just took up space.
