I absolutely love this red cabbage. You can eat it hot, cold or room temp. My personal fav is room temperature. Like another review said - I wish it came in a larger jar. Ps- really pairs with creamy pasta sauce dishes as a palette cleanser.
I love this. Healthy sweet-sour shaved red cabbage, very German traditional. Great with cottage cheese or on burgers or just as a side with most meals. A big thanks to rontexas2 review on serving suggestions!
Love this cabbage, I am german and this one taste just like I eat in Germany. Just heated or dice up an apple and cook it together. And it is good for you! Can find it only in one Wal-Mart here. So I make sure I have plenty at home.
I love good German food and that from many nations around the world. This product is one of my favorites. I combine it with a can of WalMart no-sugar added sliced baking apples (chopped) and half a teaspoon of vinegar. Add a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon if you desire and add a teaspoon of melted butter....heat all in the microwave. Healthy dish to add a little difference to your family dinner table.
I've eaten this since my mom was buying it when I was growing up (and we aren't German by any means ;)) and I continue to buy it now well into my 30s. I don't think I'll get tired of the taste and now I got my SO hooked as well! My only wish is that it came in bigger jars! The small ones don't hold as much. I usually eat them on the side with bratwursts or other sausages but I'm pretty sure they are good with however you want to use them! It's also so hard to find at most Walmart's. I usually have to find them at Kroger.
This looked so delicious and it is good, however I imagined it to be a little more crisp cabbage and a little stronger pickling. If that makes sense. It wasn't as flavourful as I'd hoped. But that's just my taste buds. 😁
I would have liked this but it was too mushy. No crispness whatsoever. I'm guessing that's how it's supposed to be(?), but I'm sure the manufacturer could just not cook it to death or something. Had a good taste, only thing was it was too mushy for me. Even sauerkraut is firmer....
I thought that I was purchasing a case of 6 for the price of $14.95 and not one jar. I can only compare this to theft and I am extremely unhappy. I only gave one star but there is no way to give negative stars!
This item is great! However, it was delivered to me with a $8.98 shipping charge!
I thought I would be a having corned beef sandwich for dinner tonight. The bottle was opened and all the juice was leaked all over the other groceries in the bag. To make matters worse I ordered onions and the same thing happened in another bag because they were laying on the side. This red cabbage is delicious! I just wish the pickers and delivery people were more cautious with my paid for groceries!!
