Great value for such a great can of coffee beans. They are roasted well and taste great compared to anything even double its price.
These beans are as good as expensive roasters. I usually buy expensive coffee but thought I'd try these out. Walmart seems to be out of them because they're so popular. Next time I'm ordering a bunch!
The best columbian coffee Iâve found so far, itâs hard to believe the price. Plus, itâs organic - fewer toxic chemicals. I donât know if thatâs the difference but itâs a great cup of coffee. Itâs not a light roast but not burned to smithereens either. Tastes like coffee, not ashes.
why the Walmart stopped to sell this coffe? this is the best coffe that i bought in my whole life, that coffe smell and taste like real coffe, not like the other that smell like grass. please bring it back.
I am a 65-year old connoisseur of the world's finest whole bean coffees. Many years ago I used to search out coffee roasters all over Columbus, and pay upwards, of $18 to $20 a pound for pure roast -- that is until I found this magnificent organic Columbian, whole bean 12-oz can at Wal-Mart of all places. I was in a pinch and grabbed a can one day and since then this is the ONLY Columbian I WILL BUY. Each bean is PERFECT, no yellows or blacks, just roasted perfectly, I cannot believe the great quality, I really cannot. The key to the perfect flavor is as follows: 1. Perfectly clean coffee pot (I highly recommend the Mr. Coffee 5-cup maker -- volume is everything) 2. Unbleached coffee filters (buy the bigger ones and trim them down, they work great). 3. Purified water (I use a Dupont sink filter which is better still, and no plastic bottle waste). 4. And finally, if you use cream as do I, I highly recommend Organic Horizon Half

I'll preface by saying I am not a bad coffee snob. While I routinely enjoy $17 bags of fresh, locally roasted specialty beans, ground at home for single-serving pour-overs...I could happily jug a gallon of my auto mechanic's complimentary waiting room coffee. Subtle, complex specialty coffee that you wouldn't dare put cream in and the old reliable 1st wave jet fuel that powered America through WW2 are both beautiful in their own ways...but this garbage fails to be either. Reading reviews, I thought I was picking up a drinkable, whole-bean bargain to get me through morning meetings. Instead of the proverbial diamond in the rough, I found something more akin to pre-crystalline charcoal, already doused in lighter fluid, that barely escaped Uncle Joe's grill over Memorial Day weekend. A harsh, burning chemical smell assaulted my nose when I peeled back the foil seal. I've had good dark roasts before...and this wasn't normal. The last Columbian beans I bought were chemically decaffeinated, and left a lingering note of that process, but this was far worse and overpowered any naturally roasty goodness. Reminding myself that this was still an experiment, I decided to power through and see if I could at least drink 15 grams, so I made a simple v60 pour-over. I don't usually buy dark roasts, so while my grind settings and water temperature do need some dialing in...the initial attempt was not promising. For just the 3rd time in my home brewing journey, I had to dump some milk in to make the coffee swallowable (note I did not say drinkable). Recalling that Dark Roasts take well to the French Press, I tried that, and the result is honestly MUCH better. Maybe the fuller body, courser grind, or some other sciency reason related to this method help mellow out the less desirable characteristics of these cheap beans. This is closer to that bottom of the barrel gas station brew that I still have an inexplicable fondness for. Overall, while 90% of Americans would be fine with this, especially in something like a normal drip machine or French Press, I just question how many people who are already grinding their own beans would go for it. The aroma is unpleasant, the beans taste overroasted (almost as bad as "Barstucks"), and there are no discernable flavor notes of anything except maybe those heavily inked grocery store sale flyers that show up in your mailbox that nobody can figure out how to unsubscribe from. On my (yet to be made) Coffee Tier list, this is maybe 3rd from the bottom, only outranking Barstucks and questionable pre-ground espresso that came with my off brand Moka pot. This might gain an extra star if it works in Cold Brew, but please buy anything else! 12oz of beans is like 20 cups of coffee. spend 20¢ a cup more for decent beans. Save this for inlaws who have overstayed their holiday welcome.
