I like it alot. It is well built Schwinn brand
Was told by a cardiologist that exercising 5 days a week and a stationery bike is a must for me. So this is my first stationery bike ever. Have chosen Schwinn 170 over all other comparable models/brands. Assembled it myself! Absolutely love this bike. Still learning the navigation panel though. And I use the Schwinn app too! Thank you!
I use it daily, its convenient to have it at home and be able to jump on it anytime I Desiree. I highly recommend this bike great quality.
During pandemic - pretty much the gym replacement! After pandemic, will be a regular part of exercise routine - 3 or 4 times per week, cardio workout with resistance. I had the previous version of this bike and it lasted for 13 years! It is well engineered bike - a great value for the money. It works for those of us who do not want a video-based exercise experience.
Use it 4-5 times a week for interval training for now. I have a low back issue and a left knee replacement that require low impact exercise options, and this provides that nicely. I chose the upright over a recumbent because it helps a bit with core strength. Smooth operation, smooth transitions from resistance level to level, and it makes NO noise during use. I'm only using a small percentage of the capabilities of this machine, but I would make the same decision if I had to again.
I ride at least five to six days a week for one hour. I had a Schwinn recumbent for 21 yrs and was very pleased with it. Recently decided to go back to an upright and purchased the 170 and I'm not sorry I did. The bike is smooth and quiet. I read several reviews about people complaining about it being uncomfortable on the seat, well that goes with the territory when it comes to bike riding, that's why those of us who ride on a regular basis wear padded bike shorts, they really help. What I would recommend to Schwinn is for them to offer a narrower seat, which I believe would make the ride more comfortable.
I am a 71 year old woman in decent, but not exceptional health. This bike motivates me to get stronger, trimmer, in a low impact (good for the joints) way. The daily tracking motivates me to increase calorie use/distance - to improve a bit each day. I couldn't be happier!
Because of COVID-19, the rec center cardio was not available and this takes care of that problem. We think the bike is sufficient to get the job done, and given the price point and weight, appropriate for the home. We didn't want something overly heavy and hard to move. Regardless of those constraints, the bike works well, was reasonably straightforward to put together, and answers our needs.
It works well for what we got it for: it's really easy to fit in moderate chunks of exercise. Over All it seems reasonably well made. One frustrating aspect is that the front mast assembly is skewed to one side and there doesn't seem to be a way to align it properly. It works okay though and returning it would be a hassle so we are going to live with it. But it does make you question their quality control.
I use it for 10 to 15 minutes at the beginning of my workouts (4 or 5 days a week). It was easy to put together and I was pleased with how it looks. It's fairly easy to use. What I don't like about it is the noise that comes from the inside of the bike while pedaling it truly makes it feel cheap. Had I known it would make this noise, I probably would not have purchased it.
